About
WSEU was formed in 1986 as South End United, later renamed to Winnipeg South End United, and operates within the Winnipeg Youth Soccer Association (WYSA). The club describes itself as a prominent community-based youth soccer organization, and its senior men's affiliate Lucania FC (founded in 1971) was ranked Canada's top senior men's amateur team in June 2011, per WSEU. WSEU does not publish a formal catchment boundary.
Youth programming runs across four blocks: May to June, August to September, mid-October to mid-December, and February to March. Mini Academy (U4 to U7) runs 12 Saturday mornings at Grant Park Fields. Grassroots (U8 to U10) trains once or twice a week. Developmental (U11 to U15) and Premier (U13 to U17) leagues are also offered. 2026 fees range from $1,360 for Developmental U11/12 to $1,790 for Premier P1 U17.
Registration is handled through the RAMP Registrations platform on the WSEU website. Financial assistance options include the WSEU Player Subsidy, KidSport Canada, and the Canadian Tire JumpStart Grant; the club also offers payment plans of 40 percent at registration and 20 percent on three subsequent dates. WSEU also fields two MMSL men's teams (Lucania FC and Lucania United FC) and a WWSL Premier women's team.
